The project will be present at the OASC booth and will host a workshop on how to scale up the use of Artificial Intelligence in cities
From 4 to 6 November 2025, CitCom.ai TEF – Testing AI and Robotics in Smart Communities will take part in the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) in Barcelona, the world’s leading event on urban innovation and digital transformation.
Throughout the three days, CitCom.ai TEF will be featured at the OASC (Open & Agile Smart Cities) booth – Hall 2, A65, where visitors will be able to learn more about the project, its test facilities, use cases, and the opportunities it offers for collaboration with cities and innovators across Europe.
On Tuesday, 4 November, from 16:00 to 17:00, we invite you to join our Meet & Greet session at the OASC booth — an open networking space to connect with the CitCom.ai TEF team, explore our work, and exchange ideas about how Artificial Intelligence and robotics can support smarter, more human-centred communities.
Join us at the OASC booth (Hall 2, A65) and don’t miss our workshop on 6 November at the Impact Tech Stage
The highlight of our participation will be the workshop:
"Increasing the uptake of AI for Smarter Cities: From Pilots to Impact at Scale”
Thursday, 6 November, 15:20–16:05
Stage: Impact Tech
Moderated by Sophie Meszaros (OASC)
The session will gather experts from the CitCom.ai TEF consortium and partner cities to discuss how to move from AI and robotics pilot projects to real impact at scale, highlighting lessons on governance, experimentation, and trust in AI deployment.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Tamara De Swert (IMEC) – CitCom.ai TEF Project Coordinator, presenting the project’s vision and European approach to trustworthy AI testing and adoption.
- Marouane Lahmidi (LIST) – Sharing insights on technical experimentation and AI assessment tools.
- Jesper Algren (Aarhus City Lab) – Presenting the city perspective and learnings from AI pilots in Northern Europe.
- Ernesto Faubel (City of Valencia) – Highlighting the South Super Node’s contribution and the connection with the European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (EDIC).
This session will explore how collaboration between cities, researchers, and technology providers can accelerate the responsible use of AI and robotics in public services — helping European cities to become smarter, greener, and more inclusive.
CitCom.ai TEF looks forward to meeting innovators, policymakers, and technology leaders in Barcelona to exchange ideas, showcase results, and build new partnerships.
